How an Insight Journal Will Help You Stay on Course

Do you keep an "Insight Journal?"

It's a practice I started this past year, and it's been really great to keep track of the AHAs that come to me randomly in the course of time.

Keeping an Insight Journal is really simple. Here's how to do it:

1) Pick a journal or notebook that you can designate exclusively to your Insights

2) Whenever a light bulb goes off in your head and you realize something you never thought of before, write it down.

3) Add 1 - 3 sentences around this AHA or idea, to flesh it out and to give it context for when you look back on it in the future.

Before I started keeping this journal, I'd have these awesome AHA moments. But because I didn't write them down and spend a few moments reflecting on them and allowing them to integrate into my mind, I'd have trouble remembering the exact words or exact thoughts that first came to me.

This is a great way to create space for your mind to form new neural connections and to allow ideas to sink in and integrate.

I challenge you to start your own Insight Journal ASAP! Make it part of your ongoing action plan. You'll be glad you did.

XO, Courtney
